The club has a ‘Rota System’ for Tuesday nights. This allocates each ‘Tuesday’ to an individual member who is then responsible for ensuring that, should a new member wish to attend on that evening, someone is there to receive them with any kit that might be required. How the Rota works The Rota, given below, allocates each Tuesday throughout the summer to an individual member – this means that each member is only responsible for a couple of Tuesdays. Should a new or potential member wish to ‘try out’ the club on any given Tuesday they will be put in touch with the relevant ‘responsible member’. That member will then have to ensure that:-
Should you be unable to attend the particular date given to you, call other members to arrange a swop (and forfeit a beer) Obviously, your paddling will depend on the weather / sea conditions and the ability of the new recruit. In most cases, you should be able to potter around the harbour safely. If you don’t feel happy supervising the new recruit on the evening in question don’t hesitate to tell them so and call it off / re-arrange for another week.
